I’m a retired, Evangelical Christian, wife and Mother of two boys (one married to the sweetest girl in the world!), who just turned 50. My home, which I share with my husband of 31 years, our youngest son, and Tucker, my Jack Russell terrier- mix, is located in rural North Carolina. I enjoy writing and am amazed at what can be accomplished with a string of just a few words, laid down in the right order. My “expertise” (if you could call it that) Is poetry, and I am delighted to be able to say that I have, just recently become published for the first time!

I consider myself to be a “people” person and am constantly awed at the amazing diversity with which our Creator made us! There are billions of us (people) and, just like snowflakes, no two of us are alike. I love hearing the “life stories” of individuals  and seeing the ways in which God has been at work in their lives, making them who they are, whether or not they are, or were, aware of His presence. Everyone has a “story”. including me, and although mine isn’t as pleasant as some, still, I wouldn’t trade places with anyone I know. My Lord has been GOOD to me, and I can only praise Him for His faithfulness all my life!

Because we live in a fallen world, we each have our infirmities, handicaps, or disabilities. Mine is an inherited neurological disease called CMT (Charcot, Marie, Tooth) and is in the “Family” of Muscular Dystrophy. It eats away the insulation of the nerve endings, which in turn causes deterioration to the muscles in the body’s extremities; fingers, toes, hands and feet, ect. This causes extreme numbness, and weakness, and over time, loss of use, to varying degrees, in these arras. It progresses differently in different people, and in my case, has already caused great damage to my feet and hands. This has resulted in my early retirement which I have finally accepted, although with great reluctance. It is a hard thing to realize disability in youth, and contrary to what some may think, 50 is NOT old!  🙂

Retirement leaves me with a lot of time on my hands, but I try to keep busy with church activities, running errands for my family, Face book, outings with friends, reading, writing poetry, and now, trying my hand with blogging. I also try very hard to get alone with God daily, to draw close to Him, believing with my whole heart His promise to me, that if I would draw close to Him He will draw close to me. It is the desire of my heart to walk and LIVE close to Him!

Now you know a little about me, and maybe you will come to know me better as you read my blogs. I will try not to be boring, but the good thing is, if I am, you can always shut me up with just a click of your mouse!  🙂
